04/06/2021 - A Quick Update As We Remain Busier Than Ever

Evening all,

I’ll keep this months Newsletter short and sweet, simply because we remain busier than ever and there’s nothing else to really tell you about right now.

As I write this (on the evening of Friday 4th June) we have manufactured and dispatched all orders placed before Tuesday 23rd March, so current lead times (for standard product range orders that we will be working on next) are estimated to be 10 to 12 weeks.

With regards to current lead times (if you are looking to place an order in the coming days, from our standard Classic Mini product range), we believe lead times are around 8 to 10 working weeks (lead times on Cobra seats are around 10 weeks).

Moving forward, as things now start to get back to normal our lead times should gradually come down again, but for now (following a surge of orders in March and April as everyone rushed to ready pride and joys, for a well overdue show season and a bit of freedom), they remain higher than ever.

We anticipate that by August/September lead times will be back to what we call normal (pre-covid normal) and back to around 3 to 5 weeks. Order levels in May were relatively normal (perhaps slightly higher than anticipated for a May, but nothing like they have been in March and April), so if things continue like that throughout June, once the giant backlog is out the way, lead times (fingers crossed) should start to fall.

Please be rest assured that we will manufacture & dispatch your order as soon as we can. Regrettably though, there is little we can do about the current level of orders, which has caused a record high lead time.

Plus, the first available start dates for bespoke projects are now around the the end of August (likely September within the next week or so), please get in touch ASAP if you want anything bespoke, we don’t want you to miss out on that all important post-covid bespoke interior.

Have a great weekend.

Kind regards,
Andy & the Optimise Automotive team
